ZURBATIYAH

BORDER CROSSING STATION

This architectural intervention seeks to connect two unfriendly nations. The desgn is a metaphor for the shared landscape between the two countries. Conceptually, the architecture responds to human needs the same way landscape responds to the movement of wind and water. Formally, the design mimics this phenomenon. Vehicular and pedestrian circulation follow the same pattern of a neighboring river. Smaller tributaries weave in and out of major flows the same way secondary and tertiary paths intersect major circulation.
